It's a destination for those who seek romance and history, home as it is to Agra (site of the magnificent Taj Mahal) and Varanasi (the holiest of the seven sacred cities on the banks of the Ganges river, and one of the world's oldest, inhabited continuously since about 1200 BC). In the spirit of romance and history, it's also the source of some of India's finest handicrafts. Our brass leaf hurricanes were crafted in Moradabad, the Uttar Pradesh city synonymous with a centuries-old tradition for exquisite brasswork.
